Peace Tree is thrilled to announce a special performance on Thursday, November 12th from Memphis-based musicians, Amy LaVere and Will Sexton!
Amy LaVere is an accomplished singer, songwriter and upright bass player who has been critically acclaimed for her unique approach to Americana music – blending classic country with gypsy jazz and southern soul.
LaVere was nominated for the Americana Music Association Awards’ “Best New or Emerging Artist” in 2007. She’s shared the stage with such artists as Lyle Lovett, Todd Snider, The Swell Season and Luther Dickinson. Her 2011 album, Stranger Me, was called the “breakup album of the year” by SPIN magazine. Additionally, LaVere has film acting credits in movies such as Walk the Line and Black Snake Moan.
LaVere is joined on tour by her husband and acclaimed songwriter, guitarist and producer, Will Sexton.
Sexton is one of Austin, TX’s most beloved musical sons, having gotten his start performing at a young age with his older brother Charlie (Bob Dylan’s guitarist) and getting signed to MCA records at just 16 years old.
Sexton has performed and toured professionally for decades and has won accolades for both his solo albums and contributions to a who’s who list of other artists.
Will’s credits as producer and songwriter range from collaborations with Waylon Jennings, Stephen Stills, Roky Erikson, and Steve Earle.
We hope you’ll join us in welcoming Amy & Will to the Peace Tree stage! It’s a world class opportunity, coming to Knoxville, Iowa!
Date: Thursday, Nov. 12th @ 7pm.
